Drivers who park in two of Kraków’s busiest paid-parking zones may notice an unfamiliar car slowly passing by this weekend. The city’s road authority, ZDMK (Zarząd Dróg Miasta Krakowa), is running test scans of number plates in zone A13 (Kazimierz) and zone B5 (Dębniki).
What the test is for
ZDMK is preparing a tender for an electronic parking-control system. The idea is that a vehicle reading registration plates can check in real time whether a parking fee has been paid, instead of wardens checking tickets one car at a time. This weekend’s runs are tests ahead of that tender; ZDMK has not announced fines linked to the trial or a date for wider rollout.
Buses back through Bagatela from Saturday
From Saturday morning, 17 October, bus lines 152, 502 and the night lines return to their standard routes through the Bagatela interchange, as roadwork there comes to an end.
